The best LinkedIn ghostwriting agencies for founders, compared honestly

There are seven real ways to get LinkedIn ghostwriting for a founder, and they are not the same product at all. We put them side by side on price, on who does the work and on who each one is for, and we put ourselves on the list too, including the places where we are not the right choice.

Vaibhav Yadav walking a founder through a strategy slide, the way every BeNoStranger plan begins

The short answer: it depends on what you are buying

There is no single best agency, and anyone who tells you there is one is selling you something. The honest answer is that each option is built for a different kind of founder, so the right pick depends on how much you can spend, what you want LinkedIn to do for your business and how much of your time you can give.

If you sell software and want posts tied to a sales pipeline, Windmill Growth and RevBoss are built for that. If you are a funded company that wants a whole growth team, Understory is built for that. If your buyers are technical and want data and research, Column is a good fit. If you have a small budget, a freelancer can work well. And if you want a senior operator on your account, your profile rebuilt, and a price you can read before you ever speak to us, that is where Be No Stranger fits.

We wrote this page, so we are not neutral, and we want to say that plainly before anything else. Every fact about another company comes from that company's own public pages, we say where a price comes from, and we left our weak spots in.

All seven options side by side

Prices are what each company publishes, and where a company does not publish one we say so. Plans are not exactly like for like, because some include only posts and others add ads, design or outreach.

How we compared them

We looked at the same six things for every option, because these are the things that decide whether a founder is happy six months later. The first is who really writes the posts, since a named writer who knows your business is very different from a pool of writers. The second is who you get to speak to, because a call with the person who plans the work is worth more than a call with someone who passes your notes along.

The third is whether the price is public, and the fourth is what comes with the posts, such as profile work, graphics and engagement. The fifth is how long the contract runs and what happens if you stop, and the sixth is who the option is really built for, because a good agency for one kind of founder can be a poor one for another.

The options, one by one

Windmill Growth

Windmill is built for SaaS founders who want LinkedIn to sit inside a go-to-market plan. A brand strategist sets the positioning, writers draft from short inputs from you, and an engagement team comments in your buyers' feeds, and it says it needs about thirty minutes a month from you. It says it has worked with more than 185 founders and executives, which is a larger body of public case studies than ours.

It is a good choice if you sell software and want distribution and reporting built in. It is a weaker choice for non-software businesses, for people who need results in thirty days, and for founders who cannot give any time for input. Windmill does not publish prices on its own comparison page, and other comparisons list about $650 a month for an engagement-only plan and about $3,999 for its full plan.

Understory

Understory is a Miami agency of about 11 to 50 people that runs founder ghostwriting next to paid media, growth engineering and creative, for B2B companies that are already past product market fit. Its voice process has eight steps, including a 60 to 90 minute interview and a round of three or four test posts, and it delivers 16 to 30 posts a month. It sets custom flat retainers and usually asks for six months.

It is a strong fit if you are funded and want one team to run the whole growth side. It is a heavier and more expensive route than most founders need if LinkedIn is the only thing you want help with.

Column

Column is a content team that writes, designs and researches, and its packages start from $2,000 a month with about fifteen pieces of content and ad management included. It meets clients at least once a month to collect updates. It is best when your buyers are technical and a report or a piece of original research would win them over, and it is less aimed at a high number of short LinkedIn posts every week.

RevBoss

RevBoss charges $3,500 a month for each person it works with, and most clients are month to month. It writes from founder interviews, sales call notes and voice memos, and then adds outreach to the right buyers and engagement that turns comments into one to one conversations. It describes about thirty days of onboarding and sixty to ninety days before pipeline work shows up. It is a good fit if you want LinkedIn to behave like a sales channel, and it is too much if you only want your posts written.

Stop The Scroll, outreach-first agencies and others

Stop The Scroll lists LinkedIn content at $3,000 a month for one person and $5,000 for teams, with a growth audit first and video and ads as add-ons. Outreach-first agencies, Cleverly being the best known, sell content as an extra on top of messaging, so check how much of the plan is really writing before you compare it with the rest.

A freelance ghostwriter, or AI on its own

A freelancer can be the best value on the list if you find a good one, with prices that run from a few hundred dollars to a couple of thousand a month. The risk is that quality varies a lot, so ask for the last three clients and read their posts before you pay. One founder newsletter puts it well: at the low end you often get volume, and at the high end you get strategy, and the difference is whether anyone decides what to say and when.

Using an AI tool on its own is the cheapest route, and it is fine for practice and first drafts. Posts under your name that read as AI-written lose reach, and your buyers can tell, so we would not rely on it for the account that represents you.

Be No Stranger

What we do that most of the others do not

Plenty of agencies say the words voice, strategy and results, so we will not use the words. These are eight things you can check, and each one has proof or a link behind it.

  1. 01

The person on your call has run marketing for a real company

Vaibhav has spent more than eight years in growth across finance, technology and Web3, and he has sat in the CMO seat of a company worth ten million dollars. He is on your calls from the $2,000 plan up, which means the person who plans your posts is the same one who has had to sell something with them. At many agencies you will meet an account manager, and the person who knows your business is a few steps away.

  2. 02

We did it to ourselves first, and you can check

Our first client was our own founder. His profile went from 740 to 8,056 followers and reached 356,221 impressions in twelve months, a rise of 423% on the year before, and all of it is on his public profile for you to open. Read the full founder case study to see the before and after.

  3. 03

The price is on the page

Our four plans are $500, $1,200, $2,000 and $3,000 a month, and each one says how many posts, how many calls and how much engagement you get. Some of the companies in this list, Understory and Windmill among them, do not publish a full price, so you only learn what it costs after a sales call. See the full price guide for what sits in each plan.

  4. 04

You see our work before you pay for it

Before anything else, Vaibhav records a short video of your profile, the way a head of talent, an investor or a partner would look at it, and tells you the three fixes that matter most. It is free, it is recorded by a person, and you keep the notes whether you hire us or not. Start with the free profile audit.

  5. 05

The profile comes first, even at $500

When someone reads a good post, the next thing they do is click your name, and a weak profile loses them there. That is why a full profile rebuild is part of our $500 plan, because your profile is your digital twin and it should do the first half of the conversation for you. See how we rebuild one on the profile optimization page.

  6. 06

Handwritten, approved by you, and never posted without a yes

Every post is written by a person from your own stories, and we use AI only for deep research and for finding angles before your competitors do. Nothing goes live until you approve it, and that covers a new banner or photo as well. Readers and detection tools are getting better at spotting AI text, so the cheap version of ghostwriting costs you reach.

  7. 07

Engagement is included, and it is aimed at your buyers

A profile that posts and then goes quiet looks dormant. On the $500 plan we engage with 10 to 12 accounts for you, and on the $1,200 plan we engage every day with 20 to 25 people from your ideal customer list, so the right people see you and the posts do not sit alone.

  8. 08

Built for markets where trust comes first

We work with founders in the UAE, in finance, Web3, consulting, cybersecurity and technology, and we take calls in Gulf hours. In those markets a deal starts with trust in the person, and not the company, which is why a founder who is easy to find and easy to believe wins the first meeting. Where we are weaker

We would rather you hear this from us than find it out on the third call. We are a smaller team than Windmill or Understory, and we have fewer public case studies than Windmill does. We only work on LinkedIn, so we do not run paid ads, outbound campaigns or sales pipeline reports for you, and if you want that in one place, RevBoss or Understory will serve you better.

We are also not the right choice if you want leads in the first month, if you want followers for the sake of a number, or if there is no real business behind the profile. LinkedIn is a slow, compounding channel, which is why we suggest at least three months, and why we say so on the LinkedIn ghostwriting page instead of hiding it.

Which one should you pick?

You sell software and want LinkedIn tied to pipeline

Look at Windmill Growth or RevBoss. Both are built around the sales side, and both have more public case studies in that niche than we do.

You are a funded B2B company and want one growth team

Look at Understory. It runs LinkedIn next to paid media and growth engineering, and it usually asks for six months.

Your buyers are technical and want proof and data

Look at Column, which leans on research and reports.

You have under $1,000 a month and only need posts

A freelance ghostwriter you trust is a fair choice. Ask for the last three clients and read their posts first.

You want a senior operator, the profile rebuilt and a clear price

That is where we are strongest. Start with the free audit video and see our work before you pay.

If you already have an agency and are not sure it is working

A lot of founders come to us from another agency, and they are rarely angry, they are just not sure. The posts go out, the numbers are fine, and nothing has changed in the conversations they have with buyers. If that sounds like you, ask yourself a few plain questions before you decide anything.

Can you tell, without the name on top, that a post was written by you? Has anyone rebuilt your profile, or are people landing on the same page as a year ago? Do you speak to the person who plans your content, and do you know what the plan is for next month? If the answer to most of these is no, it is worth a second look.

Switching with us does not mean starting from nothing. Vaibhav records a free video of your profile and your last posts, tells you what is working and what is not, and you decide from there. Some founders stay with the agency they have after that, and we think that is a good outcome too.

Six questions to ask any agency before you sign

01Who writes my posts, and can I speak to them?

A good answer names the person. A weak answer is a team name and a promise that it is all handled.

02How do you find my stories?

Look for real conversations and voice notes. If the answer is a form or a list of topics, the posts will sound like everyone else's.

03What happens in month one?

You want to hear about the profile, your positioning and your first posts. If month one is only posting, the base is missing.

04How do you stop the posts reading as AI?

Ask them to show you a post and explain who wrote each line. Anyone can say the word handwritten, so ask to see the proof.

05What does it cost each month, all in?

Ask about graphics, engagement, calls and reports, because those are the lines that get added later.

06What happens if I stop?

Check the contract length, who keeps the content and what you own. A short, clear answer is a good sign.

We are happy to answer all six of these on a call, and we would be glad if you asked them to everyone else on this page too. Our own answers are on the LinkedIn ghostwriting page and in the price guide.

Questions about choosing an agency

What is the best LinkedIn ghostwriting agency for founders?

It depends on what you are buying. Windmill Growth suits SaaS founders who want LinkedIn tied to pipeline, Understory suits funded B2B companies that want a whole growth team, Column suits technical founders who need research-led content, RevBoss suits founders who want outbound built in, a freelancer suits a small budget, and Be No Stranger suits founders who want a senior operator on the account, the profile rebuilt, and prices they can see from $500 a month.

How much does a LinkedIn ghostwriting agency cost?

Published prices run from about $500 a month for a freelancer or a small agency to $3,000 to $5,000 a month for bigger teams, and some agencies do not publish a price at all. Our own four plans are $500, $1,200, $2,000 and $3,000 a month, and each one lists exactly what you get.

Is it better to hire an agency or a freelance ghostwriter?

A freelancer is usually the better choice when you have a smaller budget and want one writer you trust. An agency is better when you also want the profile rebuilt, graphics, daily engagement and someone accountable for the plan, because one freelancer rarely covers all of that.

Do LinkedIn ghostwriters use AI to write the posts?

Many do, and that is the main reason cheap ghostwriting reads the same. At Be No Stranger every post is handwritten and approved by you before it goes out, and we only use AI for research and to find angles. Ask any agency how they keep posts from reading as AI-written.

How long should I stay with a LinkedIn ghostwriting agency?

Plan for at least three months. Impressions and profile views often move within two to six weeks, but trust and inbound leads take at least a quarter, so any agency that promises leads in the first month is selling you something.

What should I ask a LinkedIn ghostwriting agency before I sign?

Ask who writes the posts and whether you can talk to them, how they find your stories, what happens in month one, how they stop posts reading as AI, what the full monthly cost is with graphics and engagement, and what happens if you stop.

I already work with another agency. Can I switch?

Yes, and you lose nothing. We start with a free audit video of your profile and your last posts, and we tell you honestly what is working. Some founders stay where they are, and that is fine.

Are you an independent source?

No. Be No Stranger wrote this page, so we are on the list and we have a reason to look good. We took every fact about other companies from their own public pages, we say where a price comes from, and we list the places where we are not the right fit.
