The Founder Visibility Pyramid: how founders get known
I see founders making the same mistake all the time.
You can have the best team in the world. You can hire a ghostwriter. You can post six times a week.
But if no one has any idea what you should be known for, all of that effort, money and time is gone.
After three of your posts, anyone should be able to answer one question: why should I remember this person?
That is the problem the Founder Visibility Pyramid solves. It has four levels, and each one rests on the one below it. Most founders start at the top, chasing inbound, or in the middle, posting more. It only works from the bottom up.

Base: clear positioning
The base has three parts:
- What you're known for
- Who needs to know you
- Why you're different
Your profile shouldn't just talk about your company, your industry or your product updates. Those tell people what you sell. They don't tell people who you are.
Before you write anything, decide:
- What do you know well that others don't?
- What do you believe that others in your niche don't?
- What do you want people to associate with your name?
- What proof have you earned in that niche?
Then write around those answers. Everything above this level depends on it.
Level 2: proof
- Results
- Screenshots
- Experience
- Customer outcomes
Positioning without proof is just a claim. Proof is what makes people believe the position you've chosen. Show it instead of saying it: a real result, a screenshot, a decision you made and what happened next.
We did this on our own profile first. Our founder went from 740 to 8,056 followers by repositioning around one clear promise and backing it with visible results. Read the founder case study →
Level 3: consistent distribution
- Expert content
- Founder stories
- Strong opinions
Only now does posting frequency start to matter. Once people know what you stand for and can see the proof, every post adds to the same picture instead of starting a new one.
Strong opinions don't mean manufactured controversy. They mean conclusions you've earned and would defend on a sales call.
Top: commercial results
- Inbound enquiries
- Partnerships
- Talent
- Investor attention
This is what every founder wants from LinkedIn. But it's an outcome, not a tactic. It shows up when the three levels below it are in place, and it rarely shows up when they aren't.
A simple test you can run today
Look at your last three posts and ask yourself: do I want to be known for this?
If yes, double down on it. If not, you know what you have to change.
Where to start
If the base isn't clear yet, start there. A sharper position makes every post, every proof point and every conversation easier. See how we rebuild founder profiles →
